Kittens are so adorable. They have this look that can melt anybody’s heart. Unfortunately, it’s not easy determining which among the members of the feline kingdom is the cutest. After all, our idea of “cute” is almost the same as our perceptions of “beautiful”. A kitten may be cute to some, but not to others. Still, these 10 cat breeds deserve to be on anyone’s list of the cutest breeds of kittens.
Ragdoll
Before this cat grows into a large and muscular kitty, the Ragdoll first has to transition from a cute little feline Teddy Bear. They may not have the fantastic color point coats of adults yet, but these little furballs already have mesmerizing blue eyes. Well, most of them, anyway. One look at those eyes and your heart can melt like ice on a scorching summer day.
Ragdolls are known for their docility. In fact, people call them the puppy-like kitty. They will follow you wherever you go, like puppies and dogs. When you pick them up, they will never squirm in your arms. They will assume a “ragdoll” position that makes them so lovable to cuddle. It is this docile and affectionate nature of Ragdolls that make them not only cute, but also adorable kittens.
Birman
People passing by cannot help but stop every time a Birman looks at them. These kittens have bright, sparkling blue eyes that look like they’re artificial. Oh, but these eyes are as natural as their color point coat. The Birman looks like a Himalayan, but its coat will tell you otherwise. It has a silky soft fur that only comes as a single coat. And this is more pronounced among kittens. It’s also what makes Birman kittens so fluffy and adorable.
They may still be young, but Birman kittens already possess the elegance of a white-gloved adult Birman. It has a very playful nature and you’ll never run out of dull moments spent with this little kitty. Its coat comes with a mist of golden hue, giving you a kitten that is more invaluable than any other.
Siberian
If the eyes were the sole basis of cuteness, then the Siberian kitty will win every time. Most have green eyes that make them so irresistible. They’re like magnets that attract the soul. Some Siberians also have golden and blue eyes. And if you happen to have a Siberian with copper-colored eyes, then you’ll be smitten.
Siberians are exotic kittens and kitties. They have this magnificent coat plus the size that belies their gentle and affectionate nature. Kittens love to play and they often use their rounded faces to melt the hearts of children everywhere. It is one of those cat breeds that mature in a very slow manner. Whereas other kitten breeds can reach maturity within 3 to 4 years, the Siberian achieves this in 5. You know what this means. You’ve got 5 full years of kitten adorableness in the Siberian.
Bengal
Have you ever seen a Bengal tiger with its beautiful black stripes on a striking orange coat? They’re magnificent, right? Too bad you cannot bring them home as a pet. Well, there’s a kitty that is as exotic as the Bengal tiger, but without its fearsome reputation. The Bengal cat has all the elegant qualities of the big cat in the jungle. Its playful and sociable nature will make you want to keep it forever.
Bengal kittens are like the small cubs of a Bengal tiger mommy. They have these stripes that can make anyone want to run their hands over the kitten’s body to make sure it isn’t fake. They’re small, too, that Bengal kittens can fit right in your cupped hands. It’s no wonder the whole world considers them one of the cutest.

Balinese
The Balinese looks very much like the Siamese – exotic and with a very distinct color pattern. Yet the Balinese is way cooler than its progenitor breed. Yes, that’s right. This adorable kitten is a variety of Siamese that features a longer, silkier hair. Now, it’s not known whether the Balinese is a cross between a Turkish Angora or Persian and a Siamese. What we do know is that it is one of the cutest kittens you’ll ever have in your arms.
The dark-tipped ears are a perfect contrast to the kitten’s silky fur with a creamy shade. It doesn’t have the face of Helen of Troy, but it can give fashion magazine models a run for their money. One look at their blue eyes and you’ll know you’ve been smitten by a feline Goddess.
Maine Coon
Before they become the largest felines in the world, Maine Coons always start out as fur buttons. They are huggable like Teddy Bears, only better. They may still be young, but Maine Coon kittens already start showing the many beautiful characteristics of their older brethren. You’ll start noticing the feathering at the tips of its ears, bearing semblance to a lynx. Its neck ruff begins to show, making the kitten more adorable than ever. Then there’s the tufted feet, making the kitten look like a little four-legged snowman with snowshoes.
Not only are these cats lovable and cute, they have a very friendly disposition as well. They are curious and affectionate, but will never demand your attention. Most folks may be put off by the cat’s size, but the Coon is a friend to anyone. Yes, that means including dogs; provided you have a dog that is cat-friendly, too. The Maine Coon will grow into a big kitty so enjoy this little bundle of joy while you can.
Turkish Angora
What makes the Turkish Angora so lovable? How about it being a natural-born swimmer? We all have this notion that cats and water don’t go together. But the Turkish Angora disproves this popular notion. It will jump right in your bathtub or swimming pool. What many folks love about this kitty is that it comes with an extra-long, plumed tail. It’s like a graceful ballerina. If you add its elegant white coat with a pinkish hue, then you’ve got a real class act.
The kittens of Turkish Angoras can come in other colors and patterns, too. Most fall in love with tortoiseshell; although calico and tabby aren’t far behind. These kitties are small, so you can imagine the size of the kitten as it sits on your palms. What many do not know is that these kittens have a terrific sense of humor. They are tricksters and this can further add to their adorable nature.
American Bobtail
A cross between a short-haired tabby and a Siamese, the American is a feline sweetheart. It can melt your heart in an instant with its shaggy coat and very friendly nature. As a matter of fact, many individuals first fall in love with the cat’s unique colors and patterns on its coat. It may be shaggy, but it sure is captivating.
One great attribute of the Bobtail is its short tail. It will never whip against your face in the event that it lands on your lap. It is a friend to almost anybody in the house, too, making it a great pet. And in case you’ve got a cat-friendly dog, they could very well be the best of friends. But, you’ve got to make sure your American Bobtail kitten gets socialized early on. And if you can pair it with your dog, then that would be awesome.
Persian
You may not agree with us, but Persian is one of the world’s cutest kittens. Any list of the most adorable, lovely, and cuddlesome cats won’t be complete without the popular Persian. The kittens are so sweet and lovable. They have their nearly-rounded eyes plastered on their flat faces like a young child’s doll. It is this pair of eyes that can be so mesmerizing and the kitten’s way of captivating your heart.
When it grows, expect the Persian to be the cat world’s glamor puss. Its flowing and elegant coat plus that sweet face can win the hearts of many. Its calm personality and regaled demeanor make the Persian a great pet for any cat-loving family. This is in spite of the fact that this is a high-maintenance kitty.
Russian Blue
It may not have a plush coat like the Persian, but Russian Blue kittens are adorable nonetheless. But what is adorable in this kitten is the soft bluish color of its coat. And while it is still a kitten, it already has that masculine stance of its older brethren.
With a graceful body and a gentle demeanor, the Russian Blue starts with a more playful attitude about life as a kitten. They will play with you and rub their bluish coat on your legs. Once they reach adulthood, they will be more reserved and undemanding. It’s best to pamper your Russian Blue kitten now while it’s still as playful as any other young feline.
