BAAPET 5 FT Strong Dog Leash
Getting the right leash for your dog is essential, not only for your pet’s safety but also for your comfort and overall control. And the leash you choose will depend on the size and strength of your pet as well as how you intend to exercise your hound. Larger dogs require a durable leash that can counter pulling and keep your dog happily to heel. Which is where the BAAPET Strong Dog Leash comes into its own.
Made from strong climbing nylon rope, the leash is sturdy, boasting a ½ inch diameter and stretching to five feet in length, making it a good choice for large or more boisterous smaller pets. But it is not too ‘tough-looking’ that it can’t also be used on smaller pooches. Available in a choice of six colorways, the leash has reflective thread woven into the rope so that you can both be safely seen during any after-dark walk. And the five-foot rope length will give your dog plenty of space as he walks but can still be kept safely under control. This generous rope length also makes it a good leash if you like to go jogging with your dog. All stitching around the leash seams are double, machined stitched to prevent fraying. However, both the rope and plastic binding are not chew-proof so could be vulnerable to power chewers or more destructive behavior.

Well, the clasp is fitted to the rope with an adequate plastic cover and is pretty durable, using a secure bolt rather than a snap clip. The clasp head also rotates 360 to avoid any unfortunate entanglements if your pooch gets a bit over-excited. And speaking of an energetic dog, the handle grip is essential for any dog walker and this is where the BAAPET excels. The loop is a nice size and works with even very large hands, but the rope doesn’t feel too wide as you take hold. To improve comfort, especially if you are walking a puller, the handle is generously covered with a soft rubber which runs the length of the loop to help prevent any accidental rope burn. However, one of the main downsides of the handle is that some users have reported a strong rubber smell and it is short on extra clips to hang on poop bag holders, etc. But these shouldn’t be dealbreakers if you are looking for a durable, well-made leash for your normally well-behaved but inquisitive dog that comes in at a decent price.
Pros
Great five-foot length to give your pet freedom as he walks, but you still retain control
Neat 360 rotating collar clasp and reflective thread in the rope to keep you both safe
Substantial padding on the handle for comfort
Cons
Plastic binding could be a little more durable
Rope is not chew proof
