Helpful Husky Rescues Retriever Pal From Pond
We have all read news reports where rescue dogs have saved the lives of humans by showing immense bravery. Here we have an incident where a Husky showed great care and perseverance when rescuing his Golden Retriever pal from a muddy pond in Thailand.
Captured on video, the rescue took place in a back garden in Kanchanaburi province.
Reported by the Daily Mail, we see Star the black and white Husky attempting to help Singto the Golden Retriever who has got himself stuck in a deep pond with steep sides. Star is not immediately successful but he sticks with it and does not give up. Several other dogs are looking on and are clearly interested in the proceedings but it is Star that gets stuck in and attempts a rescue.
Star has several tries to help his stricken four-legged friend. He tries to get hold of Singto’s neck and shoulders in his mouth, grabbing at the fur. But it proves very difficult to get a secure grip. Meanwhile, Singto is clearly tiring as he tries to find a firm footing on the cobbles surrounding the pool and haul himself out of what looks like an ornamental fish pond.
On the video, shared on the news outlet’s website, you can hear Jinda Pathumsutr, Star’s owner, encouraging the dogs in the rescue mission. However, it eventually becomes clear that this is not going to work. Despite Star’s best efforts, the canines are going to need some human help. Star’s owner decides to lead the dogs to another section of the pool where there is a slope leading down into the water. We all hold our breath, hoping that Singto will get the idea and position himself on the slope so that he can walk out of the water.
At this point, Singto seems to be a bit disorientated and needs the help of his owner to reach the slope. She can be seen grabbing the Golden Retriever by the collar and pulling him along to a safer part of the pond. However, Star is still in attendance! He gets involved by trying to encourage his furry friend in the right direction.
Eventually, Singto finds the slope and works his way out of the water encouraged by shouts from his owner and some gentle nose nudges from Star. Poor Singto looks a bit bedraggled as he emerges from the murky pond but after a good shake, he seems back to his old self. Star is also very pleased that the story has a happy ending! He affectionately nips Singto a few times and then all the dogs run away to play together in the big garden. Hopefully, the next game will not involve one of them landing in a deep pond! Owner Jinda says that her lovely pet Star is both cute and very kind. She has words of wisdom about our four-legged friends:’ Dogs always help each other when they are in danger.’ What a lovely sentiment!
